How Make helps Enpal power a renewable energy revolution
Read how Enpal used Make to generate personalized documents in seconds and build a fully integrated CRM system with secure data flow, freeing their team to do what they do best: turning customers into fans.

Enpal, the European leader in renewable energy solutions for private homes, has an ambitious mission – turning private households into an intelligent, interconnected renewable energy community.
Executing on that vision at speed requires flawless internal operations. But as Enpal scaled, this became harder to achieve.
Faced with this challenge, three years ago, Enpal turned to Make.
Since then, Make has become the glue between ambition and execution, transforming how the company operates.
"Make helped us scale our project in a very short time. And the biggest thing Make has done for us is improve the quality of working life for our employees. Their minds are free to focus on the work that genuinely drives meaningful value."
Luis Alexander Dölle, Principal Tech Enablement at Enpal
The challenges: Business growth blocked by mundane tasks
Document generation took 30 minutes per lead
Every time Enpal discusses an offer with a new lead, they need to generate a personalized digital consultation document. This would typically include the client-specific savings calculation for a solar energy system.
Before turning to Make, the only available method of production was a manual one. Every document required pulling data and running it through Enpal’s savings calculator. A process that took around 30 minutes per lead. With hundreds of leads flowing in, this bottleneck was a ceiling on growth.
In-house CRM with no native integrations
As Enpal grew, so did its security and compliance standards. To ensure safe customer data flow, the company developed a powerful in-house CRM adhering to strict GDPR standards.
But a homegrown CRM comes with a trade-off: no native integrations with the tools that business and operations teams use daily.
In Enpal, business and operations teams work in their own systems, but the tech infrastructure they rely on is owned and maintained by the tech team. So, without information flowing between those two teams seamlessly, siloes started to form.
Employees held back by low-value tasks
Enpal's ambition is to turn customers into fans. But employees were often buried in repetitive, low-value tasks. They couldn’t focus on business-critical processes and delivering the exceptional customer experiences that define Enpal’s brand.
For a company whose identity is based on customer obsession, this became an existential problem.
The solutions: Building an efficient, secure business
Personalized documents created in seconds
Enpal’s first major Make scenario targeted the lengthy process of creating digital consultation documents. Luis Alexander Dölle, Principal Tech Enablement at Enpal, built a workflow that fully automates document generation.
Now, when a lead comes in, Make pulls the relevant data (protected by Make’s strict data privacy measures), runs it through the savings calculator, and puts together a ready-to-send personalized digital consultation document.
The 30-minute-per-document manual process was reduced to seconds. This means that the Enpal team can now redirect that energy to evolving their product.
"I found out about Make and discovered a team at our company already doing something similar. They shared their blueprint with me, I built the automation based on it, and it saved us a massive amount of time."

A secure data flow between the in-house CRM and the tech stack
The second challenge faced by the Enpal team was to get data to flow between Enpal's custom-built CRM and its broader tool ecosystem. This required a more complex solution. Enpal needed to build a custom data sync entirely from scratch.
Make became the glue. Through a Make workflow, Enpal could securely connect its CRM to any tech stack it needed, bridging the gap between business teams and tech teams.
The result is a seamless, fully GDPR-compliant data sync without constant IT involvement.
People have fun at their job
Sometimes, the biggest wins lie in the smallest details. As Luis says, the most significant thing Make has done for Enpal is improving their employees’ work-life quality. Their work is no longer about executing repetitive duties. They are free to engage with customers, do what they enjoy, and focus on what genuinely drives the business forward.
“People have more fun at their jobs. That's a benefit that's rarely mentioned, but it's real, and it matters.”

The results: Driving a rapid revenue growth
Enpal's trust in Make has paid off across every part of the business, from operations to culture to growth.

- Significant, rapid revenue growth thanks to the consultation document automation across thousands of leads
- A complex, custom GDPR-compliant CRM data sync

"Among all the automation platforms out there, Make hits exactly the right sweet spot between usability and capability. Users can pick it up quickly and build genuinely powerful workflows.”
Luis Alexander Dölle, Principal Tech Enablement at Enpal
“Find a problem, solve it with Make”
Looking ahead, Enpal is planning to broaden automation adoption across the company, alongside a knowledge-sharing hub where employees can explore what their colleagues have already built.
For those who are just about to start with automation, Luis has a simple but powerful message:
“Just do it. Find a problem and try to solve it with Make. Whatever it is, it can be done."
